Murcof - Remembranza

Originally released in 2005, Murcof's Remembranza stands as a deeply personal and emotionally resonant work, conceived as a tribute to Fernando Corona's mother during her illness and subsequent passing. Departing from his earlier sample-based compositions, Corona embraced live recordings of classical instruments—played by himself and friends—to craft a soundscape that intertwines glitch-infused electronics with somber orchestral textures. The 2022 remaster, executed by Alex Gámez at Störung Studios, revitalizes the album's intricate layers, enhancing its cinematic depth and clarity. Tracks like "Recuerdos" and "Razón (En 3 Partes)" exemplify the album's haunting beauty, where atonal pianos and ambient electronics evoke a dreamlike descent into introspection.
