Murcof - Cosmos

The 2022 remastered reissue of Murcof’s Cosmos breathes new life into Fernando Corona’s 2007 masterwork, a landmark in ambient and modern classical fusion. Originally conceived as a celestial meditation, Cosmos layers processed recordings of classical instruments—violas, cellos, organs—into vast, slow-moving soundscapes that evoke the grandeur and mystery of deep space. The remaster by Alex Gámez at Störung Studios enhances the album’s sonic depth, revealing intricate textures and subtle shifts in tone. A notable addition is the previously unreleased track “Cuásar,” a piece that had been shelved for over a decade and now complements the album’s cosmic narrative. With updated artwork by Rubén Alonso Tamayo and a limited Voyager Gold vinyl edition, this reissue offers both longtime fans and new listeners an opportunity to experience Cosmos in a renewed and enriched form.
