Created during a three-day residency at Morphine Raum in Berlin, Where Light Pauses in the Silence of the Sun marks the second collaboration between Abul Mogard and Rafael Anton Irisarri. Recorded live in an intimate performance environment without a traditional stage, the duo developed the album through improvisation, experimentation and careful refinement, transforming modular synthesizers, rotary speakers, bowed guitar and other acoustic elements into a vast, immersive sound world. Further shaped through a process of layering, subtraction and reassembly, the album brings together Mogard and Irisarri's shared fascination with texture, space and slow-moving harmonic evolution. Deep drones, fragile melodic fragments and organic instrumental tones drift between moments of immense weight and quiet illumination, with contributions from cellist Martina Bertoni and violinist Andrea Burelli adding warmth and expressive depth to the compositions. From the monumental low-frequency swell of "In the Eastern Wild" to the reflective beauty of "In a Quiet Radiance" and the shadowed closing passages of "Among Shadows," the album moves with a patient, cinematic grace.
